How to Cancel Canva Pro
Canva Pro is canceled through your account settings on the website, not through the app. If you are on a Canva for Teams plan, only the team owner controls billing. Downgrading to the free tier keeps your designs but removes access to Pro templates, premium images, and brand kit features.
Cancel online
Go to canva.com, sign in, open Account Settings, then Billing and plans, and select Cancel subscription. Canva may offer a discount or suggest switching to the free tier before confirming. The cancel option is only available on the website. You cannot cancel through the Canva mobile app. If you are on a Canva for Teams plan, only the team owner or billing admin can cancel.
Read this before you cancel
Canva Pro is usually billed through Canva directly. If you subscribed through Apple on an iPhone or iPad, billing runs through Apple and canceling on canva.com will not stop the charge. Check your bank or credit card statement to see whether the charge says Canva or Apple. If it says Apple, cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings. The main confusion with Canva is not about billing source but about the difference between a personal Pro account and a Canva for Teams account. Teams billing is separate, costs more, and is controlled by the team owner, not individual members.
After you cancel
Your Pro features stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that, your account drops to the free tier. Designs you created are kept, but Pro elements inside them like premium stock photos, videos, and fonts may show a watermark or become unavailable for download. Brand kit features, background remover, and magic resize stop working. Your storage limit drops to the free tier amount. Designs using Pro templates remain in your account but may lose some formatting.
What to save as proof
If billing continues, these make the dispute faster.
- 1Screenshot of the Billing and plans page showing the cancellation and plan expiration date
- 2Confirmation email from Canva with the cancellation details
- 3If billed through Apple, screenshot of Apple subscription settings showing the cancellation
- 4If on a Teams plan, screenshot confirming which account is the team owner or billing admin
What goes wrong
- Tried to cancel through the Canva mobile app. The cancel option is only available on the website at canva.com under Billing and plans.
- On a Canva for Teams plan but not the owner. Individual team members cannot cancel or change billing. Only the team owner or billing admin has access.
- Downgraded to free but designs still show Pro watermarks on premium elements. The designs are kept, but premium stock images and videos inside them are no longer licensed for download.
- Canceled Canva Pro but a separate Canva for Teams subscription kept billing because they are independent plans under the same login.
- Free trial converted to a paid subscription because it was not canceled before the trial ended. Canva sends a reminder, but the notification is easy to miss.
