How to Cancel DoorDash DashPass

Cancel online

DashPass has both monthly and annual plans, and they cancel differently. Monthly plans end at the next billing date. Annual plans charge upfront and do not offer mid-year refunds in most cases. Pausing the membership is not the same as canceling it.

Cancel online

Open the DoorDash app, tap Account, then Manage DashPass, then Cancel Membership. You can also cancel on doordash.com under Account, then DashPass. DoorDash may offer to pause instead of cancel during the flow. Pausing stops charges temporarily but keeps the membership active. Canceling ends it. Read the confirmation screen carefully to confirm which action you chose.

Read this before you cancel

DashPass is billed through DoorDash directly in most cases. If you signed up through a partner promotion like a Chase credit card benefit or a bundled offer, the billing path may differ. Check your credit card or bank statement to see who charges you. If the charge does not say DoorDash, the membership may be managed through the partner. DoorDash also offers a student plan at a reduced rate that bills through DoorDash but has different cancellation terms.

After you cancel

On a monthly plan, DashPass benefits continue until the next billing date. After that, delivery fees and service fees return to standard rates. On an annual plan, benefits continue until the year ends regardless of when you cancel. Your DoorDash account, order history, and saved addresses are not affected by canceling DashPass.

What to save as proof

If billing continues, these make the dispute faster.

What goes wrong

  • Chose Pause instead of Cancel during the cancellation flow. The membership stayed active and charges resumed after the pause period ended.
  • On an annual plan and expected a prorated refund after canceling. Annual DashPass charges upfront and does not offer mid-year refunds in most cases.
  • Free trial converted to a paid monthly plan because it was not canceled before the trial end date. DoorDash sends a reminder, but it is easy to miss.
  • Canceled DashPass but still saw delivery fees on the next order because the cancellation had not taken effect yet. Check the end date before placing an order.
  • Signed up through a partner promotion and could not find the cancel option in DoorDash because the membership is managed through the partner account.
