How to Cancel Hulu

Cancel online

If you pay Hulu directly, you cancel on the account page. If billing runs through the Disney Bundle, Apple, Roku, or another provider, you have to cancel through them instead.

Cancel online

Go to account.hulu.com, select Your Subscription, then Cancel. Hulu runs you through a retention flow before confirming. Your final access date shows on the confirmation screen.

Read this before you cancel

Many Hulu subscribers do not pay Hulu directly. If you signed up through the Disney Bundle, Apple, Amazon, or Roku, your billing runs through that company and canceling on hulu.com will not stop it. Check your bank or credit card statement to see who actually charges you. If the charge says Apple, Amazon, Roku, or Disney, that is where you cancel. Canceling Hulu on its own site only works for direct Hulu subscriptions.

After you cancel

You keep watching until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that, your account stays on file but content becomes unavailable. If you had a Hulu + Live TV plan, the live TV channels stop at the same time. Profiles, watch history, and My Stuff lists stay saved if you resubscribe later.

What to save as proof

If billing continues, these make the dispute faster.

  1. 1Screenshot of the cancellation confirmation screen showing your final access date
  2. 2Cancellation confirmation email from Hulu with the end-of-service date
  3. 3If billed through a third party, screenshot of that platform's subscription page showing the change
  4. 4Bank or credit card statement showing who charges you, for disputes if billing continues

What goes wrong

  • Canceled on hulu.com but billing continued because it ran through Apple, Roku, or another provider
  • Canceled the Disney Bundle expecting Hulu to stop, but the Hulu portion continued under its own billing cycle
  • Accepted a retention offer during cancellation without realizing it restarted the subscription
  • Live TV or premium add-on continued billing as a separate line item after the base plan was canceled
  • Deleted the Hulu app and assumed the subscription stopped. The subscription lives in account settings, not the app.
